About the Experience Architect Position

Verndale Experience Architects work closely with the Strategy and Design teams to develop engaging user experiences that address the goals of the client, and the needs of the end user. The XA is responsible for understanding business goals, analyzing audiences and identifying their emotional and functional needs, defining site architecture and proving out the end user experience in the form of interactive prototypes. The Experience Architect remains involved throughout the lifecycle of a project and is expected to provide XA oversight in design and documentation phases, and during the development of the experience. Depending on the project, other responsibilities may include organizing and leading usability testing, customer journey workshops, and business requirement workshops.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Experience Design Team as a core partner and strategic contributor on project
  • Collaborate, Advocate, and integrate with all functions that impact the entire customer experience
  • Exude positivity, with the ability to bring people together from all disciplines and inspire them
  • Proactively own solutions for the most ambiguous and challenging architecture and design hurdles
  • Contribute to the development of the XD practice by creating and sharing new methods and practices
  • Work with clients to understand their business and experience goals
  • Analyze audiences and identify their emotional and functional needs
  • Define site architecture and navigation
  • Creating interactive prototypes that demonstrate proposed functionality
  • Balance multiple projects, schedules, and deadlines.

 

Required Skills

  • Proven track record of creative thinking in multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to influence and communicate a strong point of view to a large organization
  • Background of designing for complex, multi-channel experiences that delight customers
  • Outstanding portfolio of successful projects that had a significant impact
  • Passionate understanding and empathy for customers when designing digital experience
  • Creativity and attention to detail
  • Deep interest and understanding of emerging trends and technologies
  • Willingness to take smart risks and learn from failure
  • Superior presentation, oral, and written skills
  • Experience with prototyping tools such as Axure and Sketch
  • Bachelor's Degree in Design, Psychology, Computer Science or other relevant major
  • Minimum of three years experience in User Experience Design, Information Architecture, or similar role
