About the XD Managing Lead role
A  XD Managing Lead (ML) is a experienced practitioner and player-coach, typically charged with leading a small creative team comprised of Sr. Experience Designers and Experience Designers on a project or workstream. MLs work closely with either an AD or Director and are responsible for generating initial concepts, defining and refining de[1]sign strategies, and overseeing production teams. MLs are often active participants in client presentations, particularly during the Design and Build phases.
The ideal ML candidate is a multi-tool player, possessing a working knowledge of “how the sausage gets made” regarding digital experiences (art, copy, code, IA, UX, et al.), with demonstrated proficiency in one or two specific domains.
Successful MLs can explain and defend complicated ideas clearly and diplomatically, pointing to qualitative and quantitative research to ex[1]plain their design decisions when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or commensurate experience.
  • 5-7 years of related work experience.
  • Fully proficient in commonly used rapid prototyping tools (e.g., Fig[1]ma, Webfow) and a variety of UX and design software used to create launch-ready digital assets.
  •  Presents reasoning, evidence, and conclusions clearly and concisely. Structures arguments in a coherent manner.
  • Possesses working knowledge of a broad range of technical considerations related to delivering launch-ready digital assets.
  • Capable of drawing well-reasoned conclusions from evidence and logic. Assesses the strength of arguments and identifies potential con[1]sequences.
  • Analyzes complex information, identifies patterns and relationships, and breaks big problems into smaller, manageable parts.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS.
  • Familiarity with JS frameworks (e.g., Node.js, React, Vue) considered a plus.
  • Experience working within WCAG guidelines considered a plus.
  • Strong conceptual skills. Capable of drawing well-reasoned conclusions from evidence and reasoning. Assesses the strength of arguments and identifies potential consequences.
  • Understands and extracts meaning from data, arguments, and information. Recognizes underlying assumptions and implications
